As most parents know McDonalds has decided to offer books in their Happy Meals. I was lucky enough to get chosen to do a review. We received 4 books each come numbered with a bookmark. A book light perfect for night time reading. A fold up picnic blanket, which is perfect has Velcro to keep closed. Lastly a $10 gift card which will be used to get my kids each a Happy Meal so we can have a picnic.
The 4 books included are cute stories each one is limited edition so we are glad to have them in our collection. Each kid that their favorite story. My daughters favorite is Deana's Big Dreams. My son's is The Goat Who Ate Everything.
The four limited edition titles are:
- The Goat Who Ate Everything – Tells a story of a goat who has a big appetite and struggles to eat right. But when he does, he feels great and becomes the playful ‘kid’ everyone loves.
- Deana’s Big Dreams – Shares how Deana, the world’s smallest dinosaur, grew tall by eating right.
- Ant, Can’t – Features Ant, a bite-‐sized bodybuilder who’s big on encouraging physical fitness through exercise and eating right.
- Doddi the Dodo Goes to Orlando – Follows happy-‐go-‐lucky bird Doddi who travels the world. She eats right because this dodo is always on the go-‐go.
My kids are 8 and 7 so getting a book instead of a toy made me a proud Mom and get this I asked my kids which they would rather have and they actually said they like getting the books. It looks like McDonalds is on to something here.
McDonalds decided to also let 5 of my readers get this amazing Family Reading Pack. I will make it simple for you to win. All you need to do is comment below with how you feel about McDonalds using books in their Happy Meals instead of toys. I will pick the 5 winners on Thursday November 21st at midnight! So you have until Wednesday 11:59 PM EST to enter! Any entries after this time will not be accepted into the raffle. I will use random.org to pick 5 winners. Winners will have 48 hours to get me their address' so I can pass them along to McDonalds as they will be distributing the prizes.
Good Luck to all!
I was given the Family Reading Pack to review the opinion's are my own, I was not paid or compensated in anyway to sway my opinion.

I think it's a wonderful idea to promote reading in are children
ReplyDeleteI think my grandchildren would be just as excited about a book as a toy. Maybe this is a good step for McDonald's.
ReplyDeleteLove all the books! Storytime is now a little bit more fun thanks to McDonald's!
ReplyDeleteI love it! Getting kids to enjoy reading is getting tougher all the time.
ReplyDeleteI love it- and my kids do too!! I have very avid readers in my home and they are always psyched at the chance for new books! Thank you!! :)
ReplyDeleteAnything that promotes reading is a good idea.
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of the books my daughter was thrilled and could not wait to read it.
ReplyDeletethese are great picks ... Luckyladybug67@gmail.com
I think this is awesome!! Now the kids can have something that will help them learn and have fun at the same time!!
ReplyDeleteReading is always a better option! And they crappy old plastic toys always get broken quickly anyways.
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of books instead of toys. I feel like those cheap toys are just clutter that basically only get played with on the car ride home any way so itd be nice to have something that kids like that are also helping them with a skill.
ReplyDeleteI like the book idea since kids love happy meals for the items in them my daughter is so excited about the books in the happy meals so now that she is learning to read aloud she can read to her little brother.
ReplyDeleteI love the idea. They usually play with the toy for about 5 minutes and then throw it down. They love to read so they will get more use out of the books.
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of kids reading. and Congrats on your first giveaway
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of books in the meals instead of toys. I'm sure my grand kids would love the books too as they all love to read and be read to at the end of a busy day. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteI love this idea. I am a librarian and any chance to get kids reading is great. Way to go McDs!
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of using books! While some of the toys are favorites with our daughter (for example the new Build A Bear) most end up in the trash within a day or two and seem like a complete waste. These books are something useful and much better than a random toy, she's learning to read and loves to sit down for story time.
ReplyDeleteAbout time! I would much rather have my kids receive a good book than a toy that will eventually be thrown or given away or broken - we love books and it is much better for children to receive something educational and fun.
ReplyDeleteThis is a wonderful idea! Kudos to McD's....the toys don't have very much educational value and I think this would inspire young ones to read more :) Thanks for the opportunity!

I am happy they have replaced toys with books. I hope it's something they continue to do beings I heard they only do it for the month of November. Books are far more important to kids than a cheap toy as it is. Hooray for books! :)
ReplyDeleteI prefer it because the toys get broken easily and I can keep the books and they can read it when they are in the mood to read the book again

i love the idea of the books. Wished they had done it alot sooner, when my kids were young :)
ReplyDeleteI think books in Happy Meals is a wonderful idea. I can actually see kids reading while enjoying their food. I know my kids would love them.
ReplyDeleteMy nieces and nephews would much rather read than play with toys, so to me this is an incredible idea to help children learn to enjoy reading! Wonderful review!
ReplyDeleteMy kids really love the toys and they are typically bummed when they get books BUT now my oldest is in kindergarten and Loves to try to read so Once she starts reading to the kids they get excited. I personally love the books better. Its good for them. I like the books that they have in English and then in the back its in French or spanish.
ReplyDeleteI like the idea of mcdonalds offering books in kids meals
ReplyDeleteWhat a amazing idea. Its great to know that I can take my grandson to McDonald's and he can have a book instead of a toy. Love the idea . Ty for the review!
ReplyDeleteI think it's a great idea! I use to love Mcdonalds toys but now most of them are just a chunk of plastic that the boys don't even like. Wendy's has the best toys according to my Logan :)
ReplyDeleteI love that McD's did books. My boys were happy to get them, even though they were not toys LOL I hope they do this again sometime soon!!
ReplyDeleteThis was sounds like a wonderful promotion of McD.'s. We don't eat out much especially fast food because we are taking a healthier approach to our lives. but this was a really great idea on behalf of Mcdonald's!
ReplyDeleteLove the idea-helps to promote reading

I think it is great. My kids would like a book more than a junky toy any day.
ReplyDeleteI think it is awesome! It gives kids a look on books from a different light. If Mc. Donald's gives them to us they really are cool! My kids would enjoy this as they love for me to read to them. My oldest is just know learning to read!
ReplyDeletei think it is a awesome idea as i have 1st graders that are getting into reading and they would love this.
